How to use

1. Key features

When Sound Wheel is started, it places its icon in the system tray.

The tray icon indicates the current volume level. To adjust the volume, follow these easy steps:

Step 1. Press a hot key combination (by default, "Left Shift" + "Left Ctrl").
Notice the program icon becomes brighter

Step 2. Set a desired volume level by scrolling the mouse wheel up or down.
Scroll up the wheel to increase the volume level, scroll down to decrease.

The tray icon immediately indicates the current volume level.

2. Sound Wheel context menu

You can manage Sound Wheel using its context menu.
The context menu can be opened by right-clicking on the program's icon in the system tray.

The menu has the following items:

  • Volume control - opens the standard Windows sound volume control menu.

  • Preferences - the Sound Wheel settings.

  • About - displays info about the current version of Sound Wheel.

  • Register - opens a window where you can specify information to register your copy of Sound Wheel.
For more info please see the Registration section below.

  • Exit - closes the program.

3. Program settings

Program settings are customized in the Preferences.

  • Tray icon - choose tray icon you like most.

  • Hot key - a button combination, which, upon pressing, activates Sound Wheel and enables the sound volume adjustment using the mouse wheel.

  • Mouse wheel sensitivity - the higher the sensitivity, the fewer times you need to roll the wheel to change the sound volume.

  • Double click action - sets the action to be performed when double-clicking on the program's icon in the system tray.

  • Lock mouse wheel when hot key is active - if enabled, the mouse wheel scrolling is locked by Sound Wheel, that is, all other applications do not "know" that the mouse wheel is scrolled.
